Abu Nuwas saw a beautiful woman on the road and said: “What is a ‘Hur’ (woman of Paradise) doing between the ‘Dur’ (buildings)?”
She said: “And what is a ‘Shaytaan’ (satan) doing between the ‘Haytaan’ (walls)?!”
لقي أبو نواس امرأة حسناء في الطريق، فقال: ما تصنع الحور بين الدور؟
فقالت: ما يصنع الشيطان بين الحيطان
