A Pashto proverb:
‘کوڼ سپی باد ته غاپي’
‘A deaf dog barks at the wind.’
Like a deaf dog barking at nothing but just wind thinking its a threat: some people may not even comprehend a valid argument but they will still attack it -while assuming that it is invalid.
Others will understand your argument, but they will not be able to dismantle the argument, so they will misinterpret your words and create a strawman. Attacking a strawman is much easier than attacking the actual argument. But like the deaf dog, they will be barking at nothing but the wind.
The actual argument will remain intact.
