Ibn Al-Jawzi reports that some men of the Salaf saw the Shaytan in their dream and he said to them:
قد كنت ألقى الناس فأعلمهم فصرت ألقاهم فأتعلم منهم
‘I used to meet people and teach them.
Now I meet them and they teach me.’
