Lack of Doctors

Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali wrote 1000 years ago:
فكم من بلدة ليس فيها طبيب إلا من أهل الذمة
‘𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺!.’ (from ahl al-dhimmah).
(‘Ihya ulum ad-Deen’, 1/21).

He explained that these beneficial worldly sciences are a communal obligations, which the Muslims are neglecting.

Unfortunately, this is still the case, as the non-muslims are leading the world in science and technology.

Imagine how frustrated he would have been, if he had known that 1000 years later, we would still be in the same position! It should have been us , we should have been at the forefront of these sciences – as we were, once upon a time, long time ago.

I don’t know what happened to us.

The muslims have wasted so much time and effort in trivial and meaningless discussions, about issues that happened pre-viking era!. Useless knowledge. Just to feed our egos.

It’s a diversion tactic of the shaytaan.

May Allah grant us foresight and wisdom, so we can prioritize on acquiring knowledge that will benefit us in this world and the next.
