A stingy man [بخيل] was asked: ‘What do you do if it gets cold?’
The stingy man: ‘I sit close to the heater.’
The man asked: ‘If that doesn’t help?’
The stingy man said: ‘I get even closer to the heater.’
The man asked: ‘If that also doesn’t help?’
The stingy man said: ‘Then I turn on the heater.’
سئل بخيل: ماذا تفعل حين يشتد البرد؟
قال البخيل: أقترب من المدفأة
قيل له: فإذا اشتد أكثر ماذا تفعل؟
قال البخيل: اقترب أكثر
قيل له: و إذا اشتد البرد و الصقيع أكثر وأكثر
قال البخيل: أشعل المدفأة.
